Facilities of TIIR

The TIIR building is located at the NE corner of the present Academic campus. The 2building provides 10,000 m of floor space. For outdoor projects, involving major construction, it proposed to dedicate up to 20 hectare of land at the south-east/northeast corners of the campus. Major Industrial houses are invited to set up their own specialized R&D facilities on NIT Rourkela premises to exploit the massive human resource of the Institute.

Highlights of Facilities of TIIR

• TIIR is housed in a new building located at the NE corner of the present Academic campus. The building shall be made in two phases, the first phase covering 10,000 2m of floor space. For outdoor projects, involving major construction, it proposed to dedicate some 5 hectare plot at the north-east corner of the campus.
• Common facilities such as corridors, entrance lobby, lawns and gardens, toilets, canteen, seminar rooms, reception, gym, office, security will be provided and managed by the institute through TIIR. Typically every business (internal or external) entity shall be provided with one unfurnished space of size (12m x 10m), (6m x 5m) or multiples thereof.
• Every participant of TIIR will pay a rent (First year is rent free) to the institute, which will generally be different for the 3 categories of participants.
• Participating firms can carry out their R&D, product development, limited production, labelling and marketing from these sites. All employees of the participating firms, though external to the institute, shall have full access to institutes departments, library, computer centre, ICT network, sports and student activities, and to a limited extent, residential accommodation.
