Welcome to Centre For Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
The Bioinformatics Center, funded by the Department of Biotechnology-Ministry of Science & Technology-Government of India, is established to analyze high throughput transcriptome, proteome, secretome, and microbiome data of mammary gland and reproductive tissue. The research aims at developing novel disease biomarkers and therapeutic strategies based on big data analysis. As India is an agriculture-based country, the livelihood of several farmers depends on the well-being and productive period of milch animals. Identifying mastitis biomarkers and novel drugs will impact their daily income. Further, such biomarkers will have huge market potential and improve the milk production period of the milch animals. Thus, big data analysis of mammary gland, mammary gland stem cells, and precursor cells of domesticated animals (cattle and goats) are being conceived to build a networking model of mammary gland biology and defensive mechanism to define novel therapeutics.
