It is my privilege to mention that this institute was established in 1961 and over the years it has earned recognition not only in India but all over the globe. Our institute has been modernized by two foreign collaborative funding agencies, viz, Indo-UK-REC Project for the Materials theme in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department and the World Bank-cum-Swiss Development corporation IMPACT project in the Computer Science and Electronics Departments. Presently a massive developmental work has been completed under the World Bank funded Government of India’s TEQIP scheme for all the Departments.

The Career Development Centre has a Conference Hall which is furnished with Generator, Colour TV, VCR, SP, OHP, LCD Projector and PA System to aid PPT and audiovisual presentation. Facilities are available for conducting ON-LINE tests too. Adjacent halls are easily made available for written tests. The Conference Hall has air-conditioned anterooms where Group discussions and personal Interviews can be conducted. Ip based and Skype based video conferencing facilities are there for distanced interview.

The Career Development Centre makes arrangements to receive the panel members at the Rourkela Railway Station, provide transport to them to the Campus and back, provide accomodation in the Institute Guest House and extend necessary hospitality in terms of food, tea and snacks.
