Syllabus
IIntroduction to Optimization: Engineering application of Optimization, Statement of an Optimization problem, Optimal Problem formulation, and Classification of Optimization problem.
Optimum design concepts: Definition of Global and Local optima, Optimality criteria-Review of basic calculus concepts, Global optimality
Single Variable Optimization Algorithm, Multivariable Optimization Algorithms
Optimization algorithms for solving unconstrained optimization problems, Optimization algorithms for solving constrained optimization problems, Nature Inspired Algorithms (GA/PSO/ABC etc.)
Course Objectives
- • To make the students to learn different methods of optimization to solve engineering problems.
- 2. Students will be able to utilize the concept in the real time design problems.
Course Outcomes
The course is designed to help students to achieve the following outcomes <br /> 1. To make the students to learn different methods of optimization to solve engineering problems. <br /> 2. Students will be able to understand the concept of maxima and minima. <br /> 3. Students will be able to understand the concept of single and multi-variable optimization problems
