BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sharma's academic journey in physics began with a Bachelor's degree in Physics (Honors) from the University of Delhi, India in 2007. She continued her education at the University of Delhi, earning a Master's degree in Physics in 2009. Further, she pursued her Ph.D. in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, under the supervision of the late Professor Amit Dutta. Her doctoral thesis titled "Fidelity and Loschmidt Echo: Quenches, Non-analyticities, and Emergent Thermodynamics" focused on exploring quantum information theoretic measures in quantum many-body systems. Following her Ph.D., from January 2016 to November 2016, she worked as a Project Scientist at IIT Kanpur, extending her Ph.D. research on quantum criticality, dynamics, and quantum information studies. From December 2016 to September 2019, she was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Saarland, Germany, working with Professor Giovanna Morigi. Her research involved studying cavity-induced long-range interacting Bose-Hubbard models and investigating phase transitions and entanglement entropy behavior in these systems. From September 2019 to April 2022, she continued her postdoctoral research at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. Her work focused on the scaling behavior of quantum information theoretic measures like entanglement negativity, bipartite and tripartite mutual information, and von-Neumann entanglement entropy in long-ranged hybrid quantum circuits. These circuits examined the interplay between measurements and unitary evolution, contributing to the understanding of quantum phase transitions in long-ranged Ising models and Clifford unitaries. In 2023, she briefly worked on machine learning and data science during my tenure as a Data Science Fellow at Lead @ Machine Learning, Berlin. Presently She is working as a DST-Inspire Faculty in the physics department of NIT Rourkela, India.
