BIOGRAPHY

Jnana Ranjan Senapati was born in the village Nasirpur of Kendujhar district of Odisha in 1986. He completed his B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from VSSUT, Burla, in 2009. With a GATE AIR-294 in Mechanical Engineering in 2009, Dr. Senapati joined IIT Kharagpur for M. Tech in Thermal Engineering and subsequently continued his Ph. D program at the same institute. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 2016, he joined KIIT University as an Assistant Professor in December 2016. Dr. Senapati has been working as an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela since February 2018. Therefore, Prof. Senapati has a total of 6+ years of teaching experience. During 12 years of research (including Ph. D. program), Dr. Senapati published 50+ research papers in high-impact factor journals and 19 conference proceedings in international conferences. He has completed two sponsored research projects, and another one is ongoing. He has successfully guided 8 M. Tech theses and 3 Ph. D. theses. He is presently supervising 7 Ph. D students. Being an expert in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) research, Dr. Senapati organized four continuing education programs on Hands on CFD practice. Recognizing his credentials as a budding scientist in computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, Dr. Senapati has been awarded Odisha Young Scientist Award for 2020 by Odisha Bigyan Academy, Govt. of Odisha, and the Early Career Research Award for 2017 by Science and Engineering Research Board, DST, Govt. of India.
