BIOGRAPHY
Presently, Dr. Soumyajit Roy is working as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at NIT Rourkela. Dr. Roy completed his doctoral study at IIT Kharagpur, in which he worked on mathematical modelling of the railway catenary and pantograph systems and studied their coupled dynamics from wave propagation and multibody system approach. He graduated from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and completed his master's from IIT Delhi, New Delhi. During his postgraduate study, Dr. Roy studied singularity and workspace analyses of different parallel manipulators. His areas of interest mainly include mechanical vibration, wave propagation in continuous systems, multibody dynamics, etc. Dr. Roy has acquired substantial programming knowledge in computer algebraic systems like Wolfram Mathematica. He has more than one year of teaching experience at reputed institutes like BITS Pilani, an Institute of Eminence recognised by the GoI.
