BIOGRAPHY

Anup Nandy is currently with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. He serves as Professor-In-Charge in Centre for Industrial Automation and Robotics at National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He also serves as member of Intellectual Property and Innovation Centre (IPIC) at National Institute of Technology Rourkela. His area of interest includes Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Applications, Computing Human Cognition with EEG signal analysis, Human Robot Interaction with Gesture, Speech and Emotion and Human Gait Analysis with Deep Learning Techniques. He received an Early Career Research Award (ECRA) from SERB, Govt. of India in the year 2017. He received the prestigious NVIDIA GPU GRANT AWARD in the year 2018 for his research on Deep Learning techniques in Healthcare Applications. He was selected as Indian Young Scientist in the thematic area of Artificial Intelligence to participate in 5th BRICS Conclave 2020 held at Chelyabinsk, Russia from Sept 21- 25, 2020 (virtual mode). Further, He is a recipient of prestigious JSPS Fellowship from The Govt. of Japan in the year 2022. Among many, he has completed two bilateral projects funded by DST-JSPS (Japan) and DST-Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea in joint collaboration with Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) and Seoul National University in the year 2019 and 2024 respectively. He is a senior member of IEEE. He has published a good number of research publications in reputed conferences and journals namely, IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering and IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems.
