Faculty Profile

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Prateek Khatri completed his undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at ITGGV in 2013, followed by obtaining his M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi in 2016. Subsequently, he pursued his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, successfully obtaining it in 2022. He gained research experience as an Early-doc research fellow at IIT Delhi and later worked as a Post-doctoral Associate in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo. In 2023, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at NIT Rourkela. His research revolves around heterogeneous catalysis, catalyst design, and surface science, with a specific emphasis on applying these catalysts to environmental processes. His primary goal is to create novel catalytic materials under controlled conditions, investigate their catalytic activity, and optimize formulations to achieve superior reactivity. Additionally, he conducts evaluations of the materials stability, which involves subjecting them to hydrothermal treatments at elevated temperatures. This critical aspect helps determine their long-term performance and durability.
