BIOGRAPHY

Dr. J. Sivaraman received his Bachelor's Degree in Bio-medical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, his Master's Degree in Medical Electronics from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, and his Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli in February 2015 in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology, Madras Medical College, Chennai. He was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at IIT Hyderabad during 2017–18. He was selected as the Young Engineering Leader of India under the theme "Health Care Devices" by INAE and IIT-Gandhinagar in the 1st Indo-Chinese Young Engineering Leaders' Conclave 2015 held at IIT-Gandhinagar. He was awarded HTRA fellowship from MHRD, Govt. of India, and NPDF fellowship from SERB, Govt. of India, to carry out his research work. His principal field of research is electrocardiography, encompassing the design of lead systems, study of electrode placements and development of diagnostic criteria for atrial ECG measurements. He has various R&D-sponsored projects worth 2.45 crores as principal investigator and co-investigator from SERB, DST and ICMR. He is a senior member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, Life Member of International Society of Heart Research, International Society of Electrocardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, Indian Society for Technical Education, Institution of Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society of India, Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs of India.
