BIOGRAPHY

Preeti Dash is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in Indian mythology, Indic studies, and Indian writing in English. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor (ad-hoc) in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, she brings a deep passion for connecting students to the rich tapestry of Indian literature and culture. Preeti completed her Ph.D. in English from Gangadhar Meher University in 2024, with a thesis exploring the textual traditions of Kashi through ancient Puranic texts. Her research has delved into various aspects of Indian mythology, particularly focusing on the figures and narratives within the Purana literature. She also holds an M.Phil. and an M.A. in English Literature from Utkal University, where she examined the layered personality of Shiva and the social realism in the works of Mulk Raj Anand and Premchand. Preeti's teaching portfolio includes a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, from Communicative English to Theoretical Approaches in Literature. Her commitment to academic excellence is evident in her numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, including studies on the language perceptions among young adults and the cultural transformation of Kashi. She has presented her research at various national and international conferences, contributing valuable insights into Indian epistemology and mythological narratives. An active participant in professional organizations and editorial boards, Preeti is dedicated to advancing the field of humanities through both her scholarly work and her engagement with the academic community.
