Refractories – General Classification, Properties and process flow diagram for fabrication of both shaped and unshaped refractories, particle size distribution, manufacturing techniques of shaped and unshaped refractories, Brief details of various shaped and unshaped refractories. Latest development and trends of refractories in application industries, like iron & steel, glass, cement, etc. global trend of refractories and refractory research, status of refractory industries and research in India.
Glass formation. Glass former, Modifier and Intermediate. Glass batch calculation. Container and flat glass production. Viscosity and density of glass. Durability of glass. Application of glass. Optical properties of glass.
Classification of Whitewares. Raw materials for white ware. Triaxial body. Manufacturing of whiteware. Glaze. Glaze application. Glaze formula calculation. Whiteware body defect and glaze defect.
