VLSI Design and Embedded Systems (M.Tech. - 2yrs)

1 "Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area of VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements of undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication Engineering
2 An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems
3 An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document. Students should present their reading and writing skills related to the subject topic under consideration
4 Students will be able to independently analyze, identify, formulate, and solve problems in the field of VLSI design and embedded systems, signal processing and instrumentation through simulation and hardware design
5 Students will be broadly educated and will have an understanding of the impact of Engineering on society and demonstrate awareness of contemporary issues. They also Understand and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering technology and practice
6 Students will be competent to serve different industries and able to take up challenging problems in the field of VLSI design and embedded systems

1 To develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design and fabrication
2 To develop the understanding of the digital and analog integrated circuit design process
3 To equip the students with adequate knowledge of IC and system design software this will help them to pursue a career in many industries
4 To make students well conversant with the development of Embedded Systems and practical issues involved in that
5 To prepare students for successful careers in VLSI and Embedded System industry that meet the needs of Indian and multinational companies
6 To promote student awareness of the life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes of professional practice
7 To provide opportunity for students to work as part of teams on projects with multidisciplinary applications
8 To provide students the background necessary for in-depth study of VLSI Design and Embedded System
9 To provide students with state-of-art technologies for research and product development necessary in the IC and system design environment and to prepare them for doctoral studies
