Power Systems Engineering (M.Tech. - 2yrs)

1 Apply the knowledge of Power Systems Engineering fundamentals to identify, formulate, and analyze complex engineering problems.
2 Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including design and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations in the domain of Power Systems Engineering
3 Design solutions for complex power systems engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for safety and environmental issues.
4 Develop confidence for self-education and ability for life-long learning and understand the impact of engineering on society and demonstrate awareness of contemporary issues, commit to professional ethics, norms of engineering technology and practice.
5 Independently carry out system design, testing, verification and realization under real-time constraints in the field of Power Systems, Power Quality, High Voltage, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy Systems, etc.
6 Take up challenging problems in the field of power systems engineering and serve power systems utilities, industries, research organizations and educational institutions.

1 To build strong foundations in Power Systems Engineering to pursue higher studies and excel in the field of teaching and research at national and international levels.
2 To enhance the students capacity in pursuing research in emerging areas of Power Systems Engineering and inculcate the culture of taking research projects on state-of-art technologies in smart grid, green energy, e-mobility, etc.
3 To exhibit professionalism, ethical attitude, communication skills, team work in their profession and adapt to modern trends by engaging in life-long learning leading towards an enlightened society.
4 To impart professional knowledge in the field of Power Systems Engineering and enhance analytical skills to solve complex problems in power utilities and industries using advanced technologies, which are economically feasible and socially acceptable
5 To provide opportunities to students, for working as a part of teams, pursuing multidisciplinary projects and product development for industrial applications.
