Prof. Himanshu Bhushan Sahu

Professor

Mine Environment and Safety Engineering, EIA, Environmental Management in Mining, Spontaneous Heating of Coal, Solid Fuels and Clean Coal Technology

BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Gun Engineering works J.C Mallick Road Hirapur ,Dhanbad,Jharkhand-826001
  • Department : Mining Engineering
  • Location : NA
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

The principle behind the CPT apparatus involves heating a sample in a controlled environment and monitoring the temperature until it matches the temperature of the surrounding environment. This crossing point indicates the temperature at which the samples exothermic reactions balance with the heat input from the surroundings

APPLICATION:

The CPT apparatus is primarily used in the mining industry to evaluate the self-heating properties of coal and other materials. It helps in predicting the risk of spontaneous combustion, which is crucial for safe storage and handling of coal
