BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Metrohm 883
  • Department : Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
  • Location : IC Lab
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

The Metrohm 883 operates using Ion Chromatography (IC), a technique that separates ions and polar molecules based on their interaction with a column and a mobile phase (eluent). The 883 utilizes a high-performance conductivity detector that measures the conductivity of the eluent as it passes through the column, allowing for the precise identification and quantification of different ions. The system includes iColumn technology for column protection and MSM II Suppressor Module to ensure high sensitivity and accurate results.

APPLICATION:

Environmental Analysis: For testing water and wastewater for ions like chloride, sulfate, and nitrate. Food and Beverage: For quality control, ensuring the correct ionic composition. Pharmaceuticals: To measure active ingredients and contaminants in formulations. Educational and Research Laboratories: Offering a cost-effective solution for routine analysis?
