BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Cyclic Triaxial Test Set Up : HEICO
  • Department : Civil Engineering
  • Location : MN147
  • Category : Category - II
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

Cyclic triaxial test is a laboratory testing method used to determine the liquefaction potential of saturated soils in either intact or reconstituted states by the load-controlled cyclic triaxial technique. The results are used for evaluating the ability of a soil to resist the shear stresses induced in a soil mass due to earthquake or other cyclic loading.

APPLICATION:

Determination of shear modulus (G) and damping ratio (D) of soils in either undisturbed or reconstituted states by using either load or displacement controlled cyclic triaxial system. This test is also used to study the liquefaction analysis of silty, sandy soils.
