BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Hitachi, FlexSEM 1000 II
  • Department : Chemical Engineering
  • Location : CRF (LAB-II), TI-010
  • Category : Category - I
  • Status : Non-Functional

PRINCIPLE:

The FlexSEM 1000 II operates on the principle of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), where a focused beam of electrons is scanned across the surface of a sample. The interactions between the electrons and the sample produce various signals that can be used to generate high-resolution images and gather compositional information.

APPLICATION:

Micro-structural analysis and elemental composition with mapping. Materials Science: For studying the microstructure and composition of materials Biology: For imaging biological specimens at high resolution Nanotechnology: For analyzing nanomaterials and nanostructures Environmental Science: For examining particulate matter and pollutants
