BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Empyrean: Multi-functional X-Ray Diffraction System, Malvern Panalytical
  • Department : Ceramic Engineering
  • Location : CRF Lab-II, TI-010 (TIIR Building)
  • Category : Category - I
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

Standard XRD technique is used for the analysis The Empyrean system uses X-ray diffraction to measure the scattering of X-rays by crystalline materials. The resulting diffraction pattern provides information about the crystal structure, phase composition, and other properties of the sample.

APPLICATION:

To characterize phase analysis of the solid sample. Pharmaceuticals: Drug discovery, formulation, stability testing, and quality control Energy Storage: Analysis of battery materials, phase purity, crystallite size, in situ and operando measurements Specialty Chemicals: Phase identification and structure-property relationship studies Forensics: Identification of crystalline materials in forensic investigations Materials Science: Structural characterization of materials, residual stress analysis, texture analysis
