BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Spectrofluorometer FS5, Edinburg Instruments
  • Department : Chemistry
  • Location : Chemistry Department BM building BM-444
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

Fluorescence spectroscopy (also known as fluorimetry or spectrofluorometry) is a type of electromagnetic spectroscopy that analyzes fluorescence of a sample. It involves using a beam of light, usually ultraviolet/visible light, that excites the electrons in molecules of certain compounds and causes them to emit light.

APPLICATION:

By using fluoresce spectrometer, we can study the fluorescence emission characteristics of a sample. In the present instrument we can measure fluorescence emission for both liquid and solid samples.
