BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Netzsch DMA242E
  • Department : Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
  • Location : FRP Composite III, MM Dept.
  • Category : Category - II
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

DMTA records a material’s temperature-dependent visco-elastic properties and determines its modulus of elasticity and damping values by applying an oscillating force to the sample.

APPLICATION:

• To identify the glassy and rubbery states of polymeric materials • Long-term creep performance of the materials • Can be used to predict the life time of the materials at a given temperature and stress
