BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : INSTRON 8862
  • Department : Civil Engineering
  • Location : Structural engineering Laboratory
  • Category : Category - I
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

Actuator based The INSTRON 8862 operates on the principle of servo-electric actuation. It uses an all-electric, backlash-free ball-screw drive to apply loads, eliminating the need for hydraulic infrastructure. This ensures precise control and minimal maintenance.

APPLICATION:

The INSTRON 8862 is used for low cycle fatigue (LCF) and thermomechanical fatigue (TMF) testing. It is ideal for testing materials under reverse-stress conditions and high-temperature environments1. The machine provides precise control over load application, making it suitable for complex testing scenarios
