BASIC INFORMATION

  • Make & Model : Measured value output FSN (filter smoke number), mg/m³ (soot concentration) Measurement range 0 to 10 FSN Detection limit 0.002 FSN or 0.02 mg/m³
  • Department : Mechanical Engineering
  • Location : ME-
  • Category : Category - III
  • Status : Functional

PRINCIPLE:

A smoke meter operates on the principle of optical detection, where a light source is passed through a sample of air, and the amount of light scattered by smoke particles is measured. The degree of light scattering is used to determine the concentration of smoke in the air.

APPLICATION:

Fire Safety: Monitoring air quality in buildings to detect smoke and prevent fire hazards. Environmental Monitoring: Measuring air pollution levels in industrial areas. Research and Development: Testing the effectiveness of air filtration systems. Automotive Industry: Evaluating emissions from vehicles and exhaust systems.
