BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Manas Kumar Bera was born in Lakshya, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at NIT Rourkela. Prior to that, he served for seven years as an Assistant Professor (Gr-I) in the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at NIT Silchar. Before joining NIT Silchar, he was the professor of the department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia, where he served for six years. He completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s School, Haldia, in 1999. He had received his B.E. in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from the University of Burdwan in 2003, an M.E. in Control System Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jadavpur University, in 2006, and a Ph.D. degree from the IDP in Systems and Control Engineering, IIT Bombay, in 2015. His areas of interest involve linear and nonlinear control theory and its applications in biomedical, robotics, sliding mode control, event-triggered control, reinforcement learning in feedback control, control of cyber-physical systems, and network control systems. He supervised three PhD scholars, ten M.Tech. scholars, and several UG students. He has published in several international journals, conferences, and book chapters.
