Syllabus
Spectroscopy – Beer-Lambert’s Law, Principles and applications of UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fluorescence, Optical Rotatory Dispersion, Circular Dichroism, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Attenuated Total Reflection – Fourier Transform Infra Red. X-Ray Diffractometry, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Isothermal Titration Calorimetry, Mass Spectrometry - Electron Spray Ionization, Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization – Time Of Flight. Chromatographic Principles – partition, paper, thin layer, ion exchange, affinity, liquid and gas chromatography. Fluorescence Microscopy, Confocal Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, Transmission and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
Course Objectives
- To make student well versed with different techniques and its principles, which are widely used to explore the structural biology.
Course Outcomes
Students shall understand the principles and applications of advanced techniques in structural biology and biochemistry.
