Introduction to nanobiotechnology, Applications of nanobiotechnology, Zero-dimensional- One-dimensional- Two-dimensional nanomaterials (2D)- Three-dimensional nanomaterials (3D), Synthesis of nanomaterials- Heterogeneous and Homogeneous nucleation. Self-assembled structure in a biological system, Nanocarrier, Biological nanocontainers, BioMEMS, Lithography, Electron beam lithography, Focused-ion beam lithography, Scanning probe, Nanoimprint lithography. Biosynthesis of nanomaterials- Bacterial Nanocellulose, Biosensors, Functionalization of CNTs- Synthesis of CNTs, CNT-based biosensors, Fluorescence resonance energy transfer, Nanoparticle-based sensors, Nucleic acid based nanodevices, DNA nanotechnology, RNA nanotechnology, Bionanomotors.
Course Objectives
- To study the nanoscale biological molecules and their applications
- To understand the fabrication of nanostructureed devices
- To obtain knowledge on nano sensors and nanodevices
- To learn various biosynthesis techniques of nanomaterials
