2. Measurement of Noise Level by Integrating Sound Level Meter and Model: I.CEL-283EX , II. Bruel & Kjaer 2236
3. Determination of Ignition temperature of coal by using Flammability Temperature Apparatus
4. Determination of Crossing Point Temperature of coal by C.P.T. Apparatus
5. Determination of Gross Calorific value of coal by Bomb Calorimeter.
6. Determination of Spontaneous Heating Susceptibility of coal using Differential Thermal Analyzer (DTA),Model: SHIMADZU,DTG-60/60H
7. Measurement of Respirable dust concentration by PM10 & PM 2.5 Sampler: Model: I. Evirotech APM 460NL II. Evirotech APM 550
8. Determination of Aerosol Mass concentration by Dust Track II, 8532
9. Determination of different parameters of Water using Water Testing kits
10. Determination of different parameters of Soil using Soil Testing kits
11. Audiometry Test by using digital Audiometer
Course Objectives
- To know the different methods of coal analysis for assessing liability to spontaneous heating and mine fires
- To analyse particulate matter concentration in air.
- Measure different parameters of water, soil, noise and illumination
Course Outcomes
1. Students will be able to carryout experiments to assess spontaneous combustion liabilities of coal and understand their implications in coal mining industry <br />2. Conduct work place dust(particulate matter) , noise and illumination measurement at work places in mines <br />3. Analyze water and soil quality parameters in mines and know its relevance for mining applications
