2. Experimentation for losses in Pipe Friction
3. Experimentation for minor losses in pipe
4. Verification of Bernoulli’s theorem
5. Characteristics of Pelton wheel
6. Characteristics of Francis turbine
7. Characteristics of Centrifugal pump
8. Characteristic of reciprocating pump
9. Cavitation experiment

Course Objectives

  • The primary aim is to provide resources to perform experiments and gather experimental knowledge and practical experiences in the field of Fluid Mechanics what they have learned. The focus of this lab-course is concentrated on the application of theoretical concept earned from the course: Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Engineering. The emphasis of the experiments under this lab-course is given on understanding the physics rather than developing theoretical knowledge.

Course Outcomes

1. The students will have better concept, more clear understanding and firm grasp of the basic principles Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Engineering. <br />2. The students will have better understanding about the physics behind the phenomena related to Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, and Fluid Machinery. <br />3. The students will have creative thinking and a deeper understanding and intuitive feel for Fluid Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics, and Fluid Machinery.
