Syllabus
Principles of planning Features of mine planning Short range and long range planning
Determination of optimal output, life and size of a mine field optimal location of mine entries
Theoretical considerations in opening up and development of mine field
Case studies on various aspects planning and designing of coal and metal mines through opencast and underground mining methods
Preparation of feasibility report and detailed project report Production planning and scheduling
Mine equipment planning and estimation of their numbers Infrastructure planning, restructure planning Rehabilitation, mine closure and postindustrial land use planning.
Course Objectives
- To create awareness on various features of mine planning as compared to other industries
- To Provide information on latest formalities of preparation of feasibility report and detailed project report with reference to latest amendments in Indian mining law with case studies
- To help students in planning mines for required production , productivity etc for underground and opencast mines
- To design the mining systems with due care to mine closure and Corporate social responsibility for sustainable mining of mineral deposits
Course Outcomes
CO1: Students can understand basic principles of mine planning for development and extraction of minerals <br />CO2: Students will be able to plan and design underground and opencast mines fulfilling the requirements of concerned statutory requirements
