Abstract:
At present, many countries are trying to find out suitable solutions for conserving their architectural heritage. These solutions can be for their architectural heritage restorations, rehabilitations, reuse of historic premises, retaining and maintaining the present state, sustaining their social strata, cultural stability, looking forward to their economic viability and sustainable environmental goals. Preserving all sorts of architectural heritage in the current growth of urbanizations is not feasible. Maintaining a balance between contemporary urban development and retaining the architectural heritage is a more significant task for the stakeholders of the present generations. Scientists, researchers, and governmental agencies are exploring different methods and analyzing their pros and cons for the selection of the architectural heritage to retain for future generations. With the help of bibliometric analysis, this research identifies the gap areas and current trends. For this analysis, it relies on the web of science (WoS) database. With the help of the authors' keyword, the title of the papers and abstracts written by the authors are analyzed to create a literature database for the evaluation and selection of architectural heritage. By using R-Studio, Biblioshiny package, and their web API these analysis has been conducted. The result of the analysis shows the source of the core literature, countries working for the assessment of architectural heritage, eminent institutes producing the scientific research paper in the field of architectural heritage. In the end, identifying the current trend, this research explores the scope of architectural heritage to be useful for society. For the future scope of the work, the identification of different countries, along with their prominent institutions and studies, can be helpful for the collaboration. Overall the understanding can lead to developing different strategies and methods to improve the conservation process of their architectural heritage
