Syllabus

Signal and system norms, computing H2 and H8 norms Singular value plots, input and output directions small gain theorem, representation of parameter uncertainty linear fractional transformation H8 control with state and output feedback controller synthesis solving Linear matrix inequality constraints µ-synthesis, mixed sensitivity design H8 loop shaping, choice of weighting filters Case studies.

Course Objectives

  1. To understand signal norms, system norms and their effectiveness to quantify robustness in a linear system.
  2. To understand different methods of robust controllers synthesis.

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able to formulate and solve robust control problems
