The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering aims at producing qualified and dynamic engineers in the fast changing areas of Electronics, Instrumentation and Communication Engineering. The department offers two undergraduate courses (a) Electronics and communication Engineering and (b) Electronics and instrumentation Engineering. These courses have gained paramount importance and have proved to be indispensable to industrial establishments.

The department has been modernized with assistance received from various agencies. It was a participating institute in project IMPACT, sponsored by the Department of Electronics, Govt. of India, funded by World Bank and Swiss Development Authority, the department has also received another project from Department of Electronics on VLSI. The main aim of this project is to develop a laboratory on VLSI and provide training to the students on VLSI.

The department has sophisticated and modern laboratory equipment and has been undertaking several research and development projects in the areas of Digital Signal processing, Neural Networks and Intelligent Instrumentation. The Department has a faculty trained from reputed institutes in India and abroad and boasts of having internationally reputed teachers in the area of Digital Signal Processing. The student placement track record has been excellent with many of them placed in reputed organizations. The department also offers M tech courses with specialization in (a)Telematics and Signal Processing and (b) VLSI and Embedded systems.
